Expressing My Experiences Part 2

Hey guys. Welcome to another week of the Wednesday Lunchtime Blog. I’m Alex, thanks for joining! Today, I just wanted to talk about how I’m now going to be collaborating with different platforms. So, every single Wednesday I will be releasing an episode of The U Turn Podcast in the morning, followed by the Lunchtime Blog which you’re obviously reading now, and then an episode of the Alex Over Sessions.

Back in February, I talked about expressing my experiences. This blog is the extended version and the subject of today. I talked about this subject on the podcast this morning, this blog acts as a follow-up and then there will be an Alex Over Session video version later. My plan is to expand to different platforms. Now there is obvious momentum as the podcast is coming up to its first anniversary and the blogs have been underway since the beginning of the year, it feels like a good time to begin Alex Over Sessions. What I’m going to do is talk about relevant subjects which have had an impact on me and express my experiences in such a way that’s authentic and truthful in the hope they could be relatable. I love to emphasise that I don’t like to tell people how to do things, I like to offer some wisdom to allow people to choose for themselves.

Previously I was perhaps a little shy; I didn’t believe my experiences were worth talking about and I didn’t believe I had anything to bring to the table. The cause of this thinking turned out to be caused by lacking an understanding of the message I wanted to put across. Now, I have been doing the podcasts for nearly a year, I’ve had some experience dealing with some massive challenges in the family business and music. I’ve experienced some real highs and lows as a result. But thanks to my Psychology studies, I have a deeper level of understanding and why I react and behave in the way I do. It has a lot to do with early stages in my life through childhood into adolescence, for example.

Currently, on my socials, I share quotes and short videos, but they don’t feel enough. Therefore, I hope this new concept will help us delve deeper into these subjects with a lot more detail. I will also talk a lot more about my own experiences too.

This blog marks an important change. For example, when I was doing some study work last night, I was looking at one of the next subjects I’ll be talking about which is the unconscious bias and when I’ve experienced it. Rather than just talking about the topic, I’d like to offer more relevant examples. That’s where the difference will.

The other subject I was looking at was reshaping which is a really great subject to talk about and that will be something we will be moulding into. What I’m doing right now is a form of reshaping in terms of what I’m going to be presenting.

I think I’ll leave it there for the moment. The Alex Over Session video will be up later which is really cool as we have the audio, the write up and now the visual aspects of these topics. It’s got those three really nice elements as different people like different things.

The relevance with my Psychology work, experiences in music and family business, personal difficulties, childhood, etc will tie in with the subjects I will be talking about in the future, bringing in all these elements together. This is just the start.

I hope you enjoy what’s to come. Stay tuned for the Alex Over Sessions which you can access from the tab above!

See you next week.
